CALI REBELS OC – YOUTH BASKETBALL TRYOUT & PROGRAM INFORMATION
Selection Criteria
We build our teams based on the following priorities:
- Current talent and skill level
- Ability to elevate teammates
- Positive attitude and coachability
- Character and dedication (player + parent support)
- Full commitment from both player and family
General Tryout Information
- Please bring a basketball
- Results will be sent via email and text within 1-2 business days
- Accepted players will have 24 hours to accept or decline their spot (this allows us to finalize rosters, coaches, and practice schedules quickly)
- Our tryouts are open to ALL players – no invitations required
Our Philosophy – The Right Level at the Right Time
Unlike many clubs, we do NOT place every player on a high-level travel circuit if they aren’t ready. We believe in honest, long-term development.
If your player is not selected for one of our Advanced/Elite teams, they will automatically be offered a spot on our Developmental program:
- 8 weeks of focused training/practice
- Same professional coaching staff as our top teams
- 1 tournament per month (gradual introduction to competition)
- Players advance to the advanced circuit as soon as they are physically and mentally prepared
Advanced club basketball is significantly faster, stronger, and more strategic than rec or school ball. We refuse to “throw kids to the wolves” before they’re ready – development first, wins second.
